How we ease a nervous first visit
Exams and routine cleanings are comfortable for most patients, and we always work at your pace — every step is explained before we do it, and nothing is a surprise. If something makes you uneasy, tell us — we will take more time, more breaks, or more numbing as needed.
We also sort out the cost side before you sit down: we verify your benefits and give you a clear written estimate before any treatment is scheduled, so you always know what to expect. Do I need an appointment, or can I walk in?
Walk-ins are welcome at all three offices. Booking ahead means less waiting and lets us set aside the right amount of time for you, but you will not be turned away for arriving without one.
What actually happens at my first visit?
Most first visits are built around a comprehensive exam: a relaxed conversation about your health history and goals, digital imaging and a tooth-by-tooth examination, a professional cleaning and polishing, and a review of what we found together, on screen — the same steps as our routine exam and cleaning visits.
I get anxious at the dentist — can you help with that?
Yes. We work at your pace and explain each step before we do it. Tell us what makes you uneasy and we will work around it — more numbing, more breaks, or simply more time.
Will you check my insurance before I'm charged for anything?
Yes — we verify your benefits and give you a clear written estimate before any treatment is scheduled, so there are no surprises.
What if I don't have insurance?

Do you see children at their first visit too?
Yes — Anthem Dental welcomes patients of every age, from a child's first cleaning to a grandparent's routine exam, all with the same care team.
Are you open on Saturdays?
It depends on the office — our Menifee office is open Saturdays; Temecula & Riverside are open weekdays. See your office's page for exact hours.
