The Anthem approach

Millions of people spend their nights clenching and grinding with hundreds of pounds of force — and wake up wondering why their jaw aches, their teeth are flattening, and their morning headaches won't quit.

We treat bruxism at the source: precision-fitted night guards that cushion the forces, bite analysis to correct contributing misalignment, and repair of teeth already worn by years of grinding. Because the jaw joint (TMJ) absorbs much of that clenching force, we also evaluate it as part of every bruxism exam — jaw pain, clicking, or a bite that feels 'off' are often connected to the same grinding habit.

A custom night guard is the centerpiece of treatment: a precisely fitted appliance, made from digital impressions of your own bite, that cushions your teeth from the forces of clenching while you sleep. It's a different category of device from anything sold over the counter, and for most patients it's the single most effective step toward waking up without jaw soreness or a dull headache.

  • Custom-fitted night guards — not boil-and-bite
  • Relief from jaw pain and morning headaches
  • Stops progressive wear before teeth crack
  • Bite correction addresses the root cause
  • TMJ (jaw joint) evaluation built into every exam

FAQ

Bruxism Treatment — your questions, answered.

How do I know if I grind my teeth at night?

Morning jaw soreness, dull headaches, flattened or chipped teeth, and increased sensitivity are classic signs. We can see the wear patterns clearly during your exam.

Will a night guard stop the grinding?

It protects your teeth from the forces and typically relieves symptoms significantly. Combined with bite correction and stress management, many patients grind less over time.

Why not use a drugstore night guard?

Bulky boil-and-bite guards often make clenching worse and rarely survive real grinding. A custom guard is precise, comfortable enough to actually wear, and lasts for years.

Do you treat TMJ (jaw joint) pain?

Yes. Clenching and grinding put significant strain on the jaw joint, so a TMJ evaluation — checking for clicking, soreness, or restricted movement — is part of every bruxism exam. Treatment often overlaps: a well-fitted night guard that relieves grinding frequently eases jaw joint symptoms at the same time.

Night guard vs. mouth guard — what's the difference?

The terms are often used interchangeably, but a night guard is specifically designed to cushion the forces of clenching and grinding during sleep, while a sports mouth guard is built to absorb impact during athletic activity. We custom-fit night guards for bruxism; a properly fitted one isn't interchangeable with an athletic mouth guard.

How is a custom night guard different from a drugstore one?

A custom guard is made from digital impressions of your own teeth and bite, so it fits precisely, stays comfortable enough to actually wear all night, and holds up to real grinding forces over years. Boil-and-bite versions are bulky, generic, and often wear through or shift out of place quickly, which can make clenching worse rather than better.

What to expect before you book

If you have not been to one of our offices before, what happens at a first visit walks through the whole appointment step by step — what we look at, what it costs, and what we will never do without telling you first. Walk-ins are welcome at every office, though calling ahead means less waiting.

Bruxism Treatment is performed in-house, so nothing here is referred out to a stranger across town. Meet the team who would be treating you, and read how the practice works if you want the fuller picture. We are in-network with the major PPO plans and also accept Medi-Cal Dental (Denti-Cal) and IEHP — see the full list and what it means for your bill.

Choose whichever office is easiest for you: all 3 are here, each with its own hours, parking and directions.
