The Anthem approach

Fluoride is nature's enamel repair kit. Professional treatments deliver a concentrated dose that remineralizes weakened enamel, reverses the earliest stages of decay, and makes teeth measurably more resistant to acid and cavities.

It takes minutes at the end of a cleaning, and it's one of the best returns on investment in dentistry — for children and adults alike.

Fluoride and dental sealants work well together but do different jobs: fluoride strengthens enamel across every tooth surface, while a sealant physically seals off the deep grooves of a specific molar. We'll recommend whichever combination fits your risk of decay, and neither adds significant time to a routine cleaning.

  • Strengthens enamel and reverses early decay
  • Reduces sensitivity
  • Takes under five minutes

FAQ

Fluoride Treatment — your questions, answered.

Is fluoride treatment just for kids?

No. Adults with sensitivity, receding gums, dry mouth, or a history of cavities benefit significantly. We recommend it whenever it will genuinely help.

Is professional fluoride safe?

Yes. The varnish we use is applied in a precise, controlled dose and has decades of safety evidence behind it.

How often should I get fluoride treatment?

Typically at each six-month visit, though we'll tailor frequency to your individual risk of decay.

Does fluoride varnish taste bad or feel unpleasant?

Most patients find it mild and easy to tolerate — it's brushed on quickly and comes in a few flavor options. It sets almost immediately on contact with saliva.

Can I eat or drink right after treatment?

We'll usually ask you to wait about 30 minutes and stick to soft foods for the rest of the day, so the fluoride has time to fully absorb into the enamel.

Fluoride treatment or sealants — which do I need?

Often both, for different reasons. Fluoride strengthens enamel everywhere, including areas a sealant can't cover, while a sealant is a physical barrier for the deep grooves where cavities most often start. We'll tell you plainly which — or both — makes sense at your exam.

What to expect before you book

If you have not been to one of our offices before, what happens at a first visit walks through the whole appointment step by step — what we look at, what it costs, and what we will never do without telling you first. Walk-ins are welcome at every office, though calling ahead means less waiting.

Fluoride Treatment is performed in-house, so nothing here is referred out to a stranger across town. Meet the team who would be treating you, and read how the practice works if you want the fuller picture. We are in-network with the major PPO plans and also accept Medi-Cal Dental (Denti-Cal) and IEHP — see the full list and what it means for your bill.

Choose whichever office is easiest for you: all 3 are here, each with its own hours, parking and directions.
