The Anthem approach

Wisdom teeth rarely arrive politely. When they come in impacted, crowded, or at an angle, they can damage neighboring teeth, invite infection, and undo years of orthodontic work.

Using cone-beam CT imaging, we map each tooth's exact position relative to nerves and sinuses before we begin — so removal is precise, efficient, and as gentle as this procedure can be.

On the day itself, most removals take far less time than patients expect. You'll go home with clear aftercare, the supplies you need, and follow-up through the first few days of healing — because how the first week goes matters as much as the procedure.

In sudden pain, or worried about a possible dry socket after wisdom tooth removal? Visit our emergency dentist page — we do our best to see patients in pain the same day.

FAQ

Wisdom Teeth Removal — your questions, answered.

When should wisdom teeth come out?

Typically between ages 17 and 25, when roots are still forming and recovery is easiest. We monitor them at routine exams and only recommend removal when it genuinely benefits you.

Do I need all four removed?

Not always. Some patients only have one or two problem teeth; others do best having all four removed in a single visit. Your 3D imaging shows us exactly which teeth are worth removing and which can safely stay.

How long does recovery take?

Most patients feel back to normal in 3–5 days. Swelling peaks around day two, then improves quickly with the cold compresses and soft diet we'll walk you through.

What can I eat afterward?

Stick to soft, cool foods for the first few days — yogurt, smoothies eaten by spoon rather than straw, soup, eggs, and mashed potatoes — then ease back to normal as comfort allows.

What is dry socket, and how do I avoid it?

Dry socket happens when the healing blood clot dislodges too early and exposes bone. Avoiding straws, smoking, and vigorous rinsing for the first few days — and following our aftercare — makes it uncommon.

Will the procedure be comfortable?

Yes. Removal is done under complete local anesthesia, so you won't feel pain during the procedure, and we'll review your comfort options with you beforehand.

Does insurance cover wisdom teeth removal?

Often, at least in part — especially when teeth are impacted or causing problems. We verify your benefits and give you a clear estimate before anything is scheduled.

What to expect before you book

If you have not been to one of our offices before, what happens at a first visit walks through the whole appointment step by step — what we look at, what it costs, and what we will never do without telling you first. Walk-ins are welcome at every office, though calling ahead means less waiting.

Wisdom Teeth Removal is performed in-house, so nothing here is referred out to a stranger across town. Meet the team who would be treating you, and read how the practice works if you want the fuller picture. We are in-network with the major PPO plans and also accept Medi-Cal Dental (Denti-Cal) and IEHP — see the full list and what it means for your bill.

Choose whichever office is easiest for you: all 3 are here, each with its own hours, parking and directions.
