The Anthem approach

Store-bought strips whiten what they touch, unevenly, one millimeter at a time. Professional whitening treats every surface uniformly, with enamel-safe formulas and desensitizers that make the process comfortable.

Choose an in-office treatment for an event-ready result in about an hour, or custom-fitted take-home trays with professional-strength Opalescence® gel for a gradual glow on your schedule.

Whitening works best on healthy teeth, so we'll confirm you're free of untreated decay or gum disease first — usually as part of the same visit as your routine exam. It's also a natural first step for patients considering veneers or bonding later, since matching new cosmetic work to your brightest shade gives the most consistent result.

  • Noticeably whiter in a single visit
  • Custom take-home trays for touch-ups
  • Enamel-safe with built-in desensitizers
  • Even, natural-looking results

FAQ

Teeth Whitening — your questions, answered.

How white will my teeth get?

Most patients brighten several shades in one in-office session. Results vary with the type of staining — we'll give you an honest preview at your consultation.

Does whitening damage enamel?

No. Professional formulas like Opalescence® are enamel-safe, and we control concentration and timing precisely.

How long do results last?

One to three years depending on coffee, wine, and tobacco habits. Your custom trays make touch-ups easy whenever you want a refresh.

What's the difference between in-office and take-home whitening?

In-office whitening uses professional-strength Opalescence® gel activated in timed cycles for a noticeably brighter result in about an hour. Take-home trays use a gentler, custom-fitted version of the same gel worn on your own schedule for a more gradual brightening. Many patients choose one to start and the other for future touch-ups.

Will whitening brighten my crowns, veneers, or fillings?

No — whitening only affects natural enamel, so existing crowns, veneers, and tooth-colored fillings won't change shade and can end up looking mismatched after your natural teeth lighten. If you have visible restorations, we'll talk through timing and options at your consultation so your whole smile stays consistent.

Is whitening safe if I have sensitive teeth?

Professional whitening includes built-in desensitizers, and we can adjust concentration and timing for patients prone to sensitivity. Tell us about any sensitivity at your consultation so we can tailor your treatment comfortably.

Is anyone not a good candidate for whitening?

Whitening isn't recommended during pregnancy or nursing, and it won't lighten existing dental work as noted above. Patients with untreated decay or gum disease should have that addressed first. We'll check your candidacy as part of your whitening consultation.

What to expect before you book

If you have not been to one of our offices before, what happens at a first visit walks through the whole appointment step by step — what we look at, what it costs, and what we will never do without telling you first. Walk-ins are welcome at every office, though calling ahead means less waiting.

Teeth Whitening is performed in-house, so nothing here is referred out to a stranger across town. Meet the team who would be treating you, and read how the practice works if you want the fuller picture. We are in-network with the major PPO plans and also accept Medi-Cal Dental (Denti-Cal) and IEHP — see the full list and what it means for your bill.

Choose whichever office is easiest for you: all 3 are here, each with its own hours, parking and directions.
