Medi-Cal Dental for Menifee families

Children's benefits, and a Saturday to use them

Medi-Cal Dental is especially generous for anyone under 21. The state's 2025 member handbook lists checkups every six months for that age group, sealants on permanent molars, and — for some children up to age six — exams, cleanings and fluoride as often as four times a year. Children and teens may also qualify for additional medically necessary treatment under the program known as EPSDT.

Those benefits only help if the visits actually happen, and school days make that hard. Anthem Dental - Menifee is open Monday through Saturday, 10 AM to 6 PM, so a child's six-month checkup can go on a Saturday. The office is in Menifee Town Center at 30145 Antelope Road, Suite 105, Menifee.

Sealants, in plain terms

A sealant is a thin coating painted onto the chewing surfaces of the back teeth, where the grooves are deep enough to trap food a toothbrush cannot reach. It is quick, needs no numbing, and is one of the most effective ways to prevent cavities in children's molars.

Expecting a baby?

The handbook recommends a cleaning and exam before the baby is born, and Medi-Cal members are covered during pregnancy and for 12 months afterwards. Pregnancy can make gums more prone to swelling and bleeding, so a visit is worth scheduling.
