Bringing the right card

This office is open Monday through Friday, 10 AM to 7 PM. Patients reach it from I-15 and from Winchester Road, which leaves the freeway in the north of the city as State Route 79, and it serves IEHP members from Temecula, Murrieta, Winchester and French Valley, which lies between Temecula and Winchester. Children on IEHP follow Medi-Cal Dental's schedule: two checkups a year until 21, sealants on permanent molars, and — under the program known as EPSDT — additional medically necessary treatment for children and teens. The practical problem is fitting those visits around school, which is where a late-closing office helps.

• Book the next checkup before you leave, so it is already on the calendar.
• Ask for siblings to be seen back to back in the same late-afternoon slot.
• Bring each child's Medi-Cal card; eligibility is checked for each person.
