Sudden toothache, a broken or knocked-out tooth, a crown that came off at the worst moment? Call Anthem Dental - Moreno Valley at the Canyon Springs office, just off the 60 — we do our best to see patients in pain quickly.
25,000+ patients served across our 3 offices
An early start for pain that lasted all night
A toothache that kept you awake is best dealt with early. Anthem Dental - Moreno Valley opens at 9 AM Tuesday through Friday — the earliest start of the three Anthem offices — and at 10 AM on Monday. Call (951) 656-5531 as the doors open, say you are in pain, and the first free time that morning or afternoon will be found for you if at all possible.
Have a few details ready: which tooth, when it began, whether your face or gum has swollen, and any medicines you take. If you have Medi-Cal Dental or IEHP, keep your Medi-Cal card handy so eligibility can be checked before you arrive. Spanish is spoken at the front desk as well as English.
Closing time is 5 PM, and there are no weekend hours here, so a problem that flares on a Friday afternoon is worth a call before the day ends. On a Saturday, try the Menifee office instead.

Early appointments near Moreno Valley
Morning starts for pain that kept you up at night
Anthem Dental - Moreno Valley opens at 9 AM Tuesday through Friday and at 10 AM on Monday, closing at 5 PM. If a tooth kept you awake, calling right at opening gives the front desk the most room to fit you in that day. The office is at 2712 Canyon Springs Pkwy, Suite 3, Riverside, in Canyon Springs — free parking throughout the Canyon Springs plaza lot, with accessible spaces near Suite 3.
The building sits in the city of Riverside, the county seat, and the office serves Moreno Valley next door, where State Route 60 — locally the Moreno Valley Freeway — and I-215 both pass through. March Joint Air Reserve Base lies between parts of the two cities. Also serving Canyon Springs and Moreno Valley as a whole.
Swelling, a bump on the gum, or a bad taste
These are the classic signs of a dental abscess — an infection at the root of a tooth or in the gum. It often throbs, may ease for a while if the infection drains, and then returns. An abscess does not heal on its own even when the pain fades, so it is worth a call the same day you notice it.
- Rinse with warm salt water a few times a day to keep the area clean.
- Sleep with your head raised, and use a cold pack on the outside of the face for swelling.
- Do not try to pop or drain a gum bump yourself.
- Go to an emergency room instead of waiting for us if the swelling spreads toward your eye or down your neck, or you have a fever, trouble swallowing, or trouble breathing.
Treatment is usually a root canal to clear the infection and keep the tooth, or an extraction when the tooth cannot be saved — the digital X-rays and a 3D cone-beam scan when needed tell us which, and you get the options and costs in writing first. The office is closed on weekends; on a Saturday, the Menifee office is open.
After the first visit near Moreno Valley
From pain relief to the repair
What the dentist is looking for
An emergency exam is a focused one: the painful tooth, the gum around it, and X-rays of that area. The dentist may check how the tooth reacts to cold and to biting, and a 3D cone-beam scan is used when a flat X-ray cannot show enough — around a back tooth with several roots, for example.
Saving the tooth, or replacing it
If the nerve is infected but the tooth itself is sound, root canal treatment removes the infection and keeps the tooth; a complex case is referred to a specialist when that is the better choice. If a crown is what the tooth needs, it takes two visits, and the early start makes both easy to fit before work. If the tooth is broken below the gum or too weak to restore, it is taken out, and the ways to fill the gap — an implant or a bridge — can be talked through later, without pressure.
A ride for the follow-up visit
IEHP members can arrange a ride through IEHP for a Medi-Cal-covered dental visit anywhere in Riverside or San Bernardino County. A routine ride has to be requested from IEHP's Transportation Department five business days or more in advance, so it suits the follow-up appointment rather than the emergency itself.
